What ages do you accept at CHS?
CHS welcomes Jewish children ages 5 to 13, regardless of prior Jewish education or background.
When does the school year run?
The 2025–26 school year runs from September 14, 2025 – May 10, 2026. Classes are held Sundays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Where is CHS located?
CHS takes place at Chabad of St. Petersburg, located at:

Do I need to be a member of Chabad to enroll?
No membership is required. CHS is open to every Jewish family, regardless of synagogue affiliation or level of observance.
How much does it cost?
Tuition is $600 for the full school year. Payment plans and scholarships are available. We believe no child should miss out on a Jewish education due to financial constraints.
What is your approach to teaching Hebrew?
We use the Aleph Champ program, a proven system that motivates students through leveled reading and individual progress. It’s fun, goal-oriented, and tailored to each child.
Is this a drop-off program or do parents stay?
CHS is a drop-off program. We want children to feel a sense of independence and ownership of their learning in a warm and safe environment.
Do you prepare children for Bar/Bat Mitzvah?
Yes! Our older students receive a strong foundation in Jewish knowledge, values, and traditions, including the basics of Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation. We also offer customized Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring outside of CHS hours.
What’s a typical Sunday like at CHS?
A typical morning includes:
- Tefillah (morning prayers)

- Aleph Champ Hebrew Reading
What is Aleph Champ and how does it work?
Aleph Champ is our uniquely engaging Hebrew reading program used at CHS. Modeled after the karate system, it breaks Hebrew reading into 10 colored levels, helping students progress at their own pace and take pride in their accomplishments, just like earning belts in karate.
Is there a dress code?
There’s no formal dress code, but we encourage respectful and modest attire in line with our learning environment.
Can my child join mid-year?
Yes! We accept mid-year enrollments as long as there is space in the class.
My child has learning challenges. Can they attend CHS?
