October 7, 2023, will forever be etched in the hearts of the Jewish people as a day of profound loss, marking the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust and igniting a wave of global antisemitism. Yet, our community stands resilient and united. We will never forget, and we will always prevail.

This year Simchat Torah (on October 24, 2024), will be celebrated with unparalleled joy and determination. The Torah is our compass, and joy is our lifeblood. In the face of sadness, we will dance and sing with unshakable determination, showing the world that joy is at the core of our existence.

In memory of the precious lives lost, Chabad Jewish Center of S. Petersburg is joining hundreds of communities worldwide by purchasing a stunning white Torah Cover, displaying the words "Am Yisrael Chai" prominently on the front, with a reference to those lost embroidered on the front. This cover will be crafted in Israel, supporting the local economy, and will be used during Yom Kippur, Shemini Atzeret, and Simchat Torah, where we will dance with it in honor of those we lost.

We invite you to be a part of this meaningful memorial project. Donations of any size are welcomed. Your participation helps us show the world that though our hearts are broken, our spirit remains unbroken. We live on for those we lost, performing mitzvot, dancing in their honor, and bringing more light into the world.

Together, we will dance this Simchat Torah with our fellow brothers and sisters in Israel and across the globe, and we pray that this year brings the ultimate redemption with Moshiach. Let’s unite, celebrate with joy, and pray for a year of peace and redemption.

Let’s show our solidarity, celebrate with joy, and pray for a year of redemption. Together, we will dance and affirm our enduring spirit.
